LG-LH2300 : LG Touch Web

LG is planning to launch a phone in Korea which makes life easy for web surfers. They called it Touch-Web and equiped with WVGA LCD screen.

Touch-Web is also called LG-LH2300 and features a 3-inch wide full touchscreen LCD with 800 x 480(Wide VGA) resolution.The Touch Web phone adopts Quick Search Icon providing direct access to main portals, Internet hot key and jog wheel.

Microsoft LucidTouch

Now by LucidTouch, males with big hands not only have more inches under the belt but can also work with bigger screens.

The LucidTouch is a new mobile concept launched by Microsoft and Mitsubishi that gives the end user the ability to control the devise by touching its see-through back; users can choose to manipulate objects by touching a sensor pad on the back of the device which allows them to resize images and texts as well as navigate around any graphical user interface without their hands getting in the way of the

The OpenMoko Neo1973

OpenMoko, the makers of the Neo 1973 Linux-based open source smartphone is currently taking a new strategy in cell phone design. the company lets their customers engage in the design process.

OpenMoko’s goal is to change phones from being disposable gadgets with rapidly declining value and into mobile computers that get more valuable as you customize them. These ideas and concepts sound great in theory, and would do well if they ever make it to the mass market.

Linc Concept Phone

LINC is a new type of touch screen smart phone that you can find anything new in it (It’s got a media player, a web browser, GPS, Bluetooth, wifi, 3G, blah, blah, blah etc) but what makes it stand out from the rest of the mobile crowd is that it is “designed for disassembly”.

It meets your needs as coustmer as well as the needs of the earth. Basic idea is that you lease your phone instead of owning it. After a year, you send your current handset back to LINC, which builds the phones for easy, automated disassembly to simplify component recycling. The device contains valuable materials like aluminum, glass, and electronic components that the producer can harvest for re-use.

Nokia Morph Concept

Nothing like this has been created before. Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices; the Morph concept shows what might be possible. Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes.

It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering. The Morph is a joint nanotechnology concept, developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) and Dr. Tapani Ryhanen, Head of the NRC Cambridge UK laboratory.

Second Life Heads For Mobiles

Vollee, a company that has figured out how to stream PC games to mobile phones, announced the planing on rolling out technology which makes it possible to play the game Second Life on 3G handsets which will open in May 2008.

This does seem like a tall order, with Second Life being very graphics intensive. It would require a LOT of streaming data.

PacketVideo Mobile Broadcast Receiver

Now with PacketVideo (PV) you don’t have to change your handset to upgrade to advanced mobile TV services.

At the World Mobile Congress PacketVideo launched their Mobile Broadcast Receiver, a small device which turns WiFi-enabled phones and personal media players into mobile TVs. The portable receiver decodes a digital TV signal and repurposes it for use on the phone, sending it via a wireless signal to a playback device.
